To apply for a Driver License in Telangana the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office : RTO Office List
Application Forms No 4 is required. Application forms can be obtained from the following link : Application forms Application forms
Medical certificate in Form 1A wherever applicable. An application for a medical certificate (Form - IA) shall contain a declaration in Form – 1.
The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for driver license by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
As a first step, please schedule an appointment at an appropriate date and time that is suitable for you.
Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
For a Driver License you will be requested to bring your own vehicle where you will be tested for your driving skills.
If the testing authority is satisfied with your driving skills a driving license will be provided.

Apply through State Portal

Application for obtaining Driver License (Car, Bike, Motorcycle) can be made through State Online Portal
Click on the “Click here to book online slot” option.
The applicant will be redirected to a new page.
Please click the “Fresh Driving License” link that is displayed under the “Driving License” section of the page.
Click on the “Slot Booking option” and follow the instructions on the page.
Finally click on the “I Agree” option.
In the next screen presented, fill in the mandatory details and request for OTP. Enter the Captcha.
In the next page, you have to choose the day and time that you are planning to visit the RTO office related to the application and click “Next” button that is displayed on the bottom of the screen.
Please follow the instructions that are displayed in the following pages for filling the application forms and making payments and uploading required documents.
Take printout of the application form including acknowledgement and go to RTO office before 11:30 a.m. on the date of appointment and Present the completed application forms along with required documents in one of the counters and pay the appropriate fees.

To Obtain a Driver License (Car, Bike, Motorcycle), the applicant can make the application online via the following link link
The applicant has to click “Drivers/ Learners License” and select the respective state from the drop-down menu.
On the next tab, the applicant has to click “Apply for Driving License” and read the instructions and click “Continue”
Next the applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
Review the application and click “Submit”
The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
An acknowledgment receipt will be displayed. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
Next the applicant should book the slot and visit the office on the respective date.
All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.

Documents of vehicle in which applicant proposes to appear for test of competence to drive (such as Registration Certificate, Insurance Certificate, Tax Card, Pollution under Control Certificate).
Consent letter affixed with 2Rs stamp from vehicle owner to conduct driving test in his vehicle, if the vehicle is not owned by the applicant.
Passport size photographs-4 copies.
Valid Learner's License held by the applicant for the relevant class, which is older than 30 days.
Applicants for Transport Vehicle License should enclose a Training Certificate in Form No. 5 issued by a recognized driving school.

EligibilityEdit

For driving motorcycle without gear, a candidate must have completed 16 years.
For other vehicles, they must have completed 18 years.
For Transport vehicles driving they should have completed 20 years.
You should have a valid learners license (LLR).
You should apply after 30 days and within 180 days from the date of issuance of learners license (LLR).
A person who is at least 20 years old and possesses a Learners License can obtain a License for driving a commercial vehicle. Also, one has to be conversant with the traffic rules and regulations in all the cases

ValidityEdit

A Driving License for a private vehicle is valid up to a period of 20 years or an age of 50 years whichever is earlier, and 5 years thereafter. But, a commercial Driving License is valid up to three years.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A driving license is an official document that states, a person may operate one or more types of motorized vehicles, such as a motorcycle, car, truck, or a bus, on a public roadway.
Under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act,1988 in India, no person can drive a motor vehicle in any public place unless he holds a valid Driving License issued to him, authorizing him to drive a vehicle of that particular category.
Driving without Driving license is an offense. Incumbent has to pay penalty

Application for Driver's License can be done after 30 days from the date of receiving Learner's License (2 wheeler).

NOTE : Application for Driver's License will not be accepted after expiry of Learner's License(In such a case, the applicant has to re-apply for Learner's License and then apply for Driver's License after 30 days of receiving Learner's License).

It is a punishable offense to drive the vehicle without a valid license
Those who are under 18 Years are not supposed to drive
