ProcedureEdit

  • The deserving couples are advised to open a joint bank account or convert the existing bank account in to a joint account. Make sure to connect the bank account with the Aadhaar card.


Apply In-Person:

  1. The beneficiary shall approach their respective SC Development Department office in their area.
  2. Contact Link please select the name of the district provided on the right part of the page to reach the respective district portal and select menu “DEPARTMENTS > SC DEVELOPMENT “ OR “DIRECTORY > Contact Directory “ to get a page. Here, please find the SC development related the contact details or else, please find the district social welfare office details and find the contact details as appropriate for the contact details or AND the applicant shall also enquire at the local panchayat office to apply for the incentive Link for the contact details AND link2 please select the name of the district provided on the right part of the page to reach the respective district portal and select menu “DIRECTORY > PUBLIC UTILITIES > Municipalities” OR “DIRECTORY > Contact Directory “ for the contact details AND Panchayat please use the excel sheet hyperlink against the respective state/UT for the contact details.
  3. Go to the respective office and consult with the designated authority to know the applying procedure. Please collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.

  5. Please complete the application form. Attach all the documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the designated authority.
  6. Authorities will check the submitted application and documents to make sure that the couple is eligible for the scheme and all the required documents are in place. If eligible and the documents are in place, the application will be accepted.
  7. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using computer. The applicant will be provided with a record number as acknowledgement for future reference.
  8. The application will be processed further.
  9. This incentive is sanctioned based on the details given in the application, local enquiry, facts and records produced.
  10. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
  11. The department authorities will do the ground level verification to clarify the application details and do the local enquiry to clarify the facts.
  12. Based on the outcome of the verification, the department will forward the proposal with recommendation from the concerned district magistrate, district collector/ deputy commissioner / social welfare department of the concerned state/UT to the sanctioning body.
  13. The sanctioning body will evaluate the case to sanction the incentive.
  14. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or as per the applicable norms.
  15. If approved, the incentive will be credited in the joint account of the couple in instalments as per the government norms.
  16. Usually there is no fee charged for this procedure.
  17. The whole process can be completed as per the timeline with respect to the department’s work schedule and also based on the budget allotment.

  2. In the given page, please scroll down and click on the “Marriage Incentive Awards” button to reach the “MARRIAGE INCENTIVE AWARD SCHEMES” page.
  3. Please scroll down to the “INTERCASTE MARRIAGE INCENTIVE AWARD (SC Development)” section. Please go through the information and click on the “Application Registration” button provided on the right part of the screen to reach the “REGISTRATION FORM FOR INTERCASTE MARRIAGE INCENTIVE AWARD” page.
  4. Here, please complete the prompts as appropriate for the “BRIDE & BRIDEGROOM PERSONAL INFORMATION”, “INCOME CERTIFICATE DETAILS”, “CASTE CERTIFICATE DETAILS (Not Mandatory for those who belong to EBC)”, “WITNESS DETAILS”, “MARRIAGE DETAILS”and “COUPLE'S JOINT BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS” sections one by one and for the “DOCUMENTS TO BE ENCLOSED/UPLOADED” section, please upload the documents as applicable using the appropriate option and click on the “Submit“ button to submit the application online. A system generated acknowledgement for the submission of online application along with a reference number will be provided.
  5. Please use the applicable button to save or print the application.
  6. Please keep the acknowledgement safe for future reference. The applicant may get direction from the department or the applicant themselves shall approach the department.
  7. Once the printout of the online application is in hand, please visit the respective Social Welfare Department office for the respective area as applicable and submit the application along with documents (as per the “Required Documents” section of this page) that were uploaded online.
  8. Please follow the authorities guidelines to get the incentive.

EligibilityEdit

  • The couple should be Indian citizens.
  • Applicant should be the permanent resident of the respective state.
  • A marriage will be considered Inter-caste marriage in which one of the spouses belongs to scheduled caste and the other belongs to a Non-scheduled caste.
  • The marriage should be valid as per the law and duly registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
  • The couple with marriage registration certificate are eligible to apply.
  • In order to apply for this scheme, the total income of the couple should be less than Rs. 5.0 lakhs or the amount fixed by the respective government.
  • Incentive will be provided only those who have applied within a year (in few states it is 18 months) of marriage or as per the timeline fixed by the respective state.



FeesEdit

  • There is no fee required for this service. Please follow the authority’s guidelines for any charges (if required).
  • Non-judicial stamp paper (for 10 rupees or as per the advised amount).



ValidityEdit

  • The couple will get the incentive for the application that they submitted. There is no validity with respect to the period.

InstructionsEdit

  • The incentive Rs.2.50 lakh (or the amount as per state norms) per marriage will be provided. From this R.2.50 lakh, an amount of Rs.1.50 lakh will be released through RTGS / NEFT to the joint account of the couple on receipt of a Pre-Stamped receipt on a ten rupee Non-judicial stamp paper. The remaining amount will be kept in a fixed deposit in the foundation for a period of 3 years.
  • This incentive is applicable for the first marriage only.
  • Any wrongful identification and certification of beneficiaries shall attract severe disciplinary action against the concerned.
  • Do not submit fake documents as a proof to get this incentive.
  • Incomplete application will be rejected.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
  • Applicant will be penalized if any information provided by the applicant while applying for this incentive scheme is being found false or incorrect.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The incentive is to appreciate the Inter-caste marriage, taken by the newly married couple and to extend financial support to the couple to enable them to settle down in the initial phase of their married life.
  • The government is providing the incentive for the eligible couples. This is a significant step to reduce the caste-prejudices, abolish ‘untouchability’ and spread the values of liberty, equality, fraternity etc in the society.
