Apply In-Person:
- Renewal of Molasses Permit is done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana.

- Licenses/Permits issued by the Authority expire on the 30th June of every year and license/Permit holders wishing for renewal thereof may apply by 1st June preceding the expiry of the license.
- A Molasses Permit expires on the 30th June of every year and certificate holders wishing for renewal thereof may apply by 1st June preceding the expiry of the registration.
- Application form should obtain the respective office.
- Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- The applicant should submit the duly filled renewal application form to their local administration office (Chief or sub-chief) and the livestock officers (County or sub-county) for endorsement before submitting the document to the Sugar Directorate offices.
- Industrial manufacturers and exporters should just attached the relevant documents and submit it to the Sugar Directorate’s offices.
- Submit the completed application form and pay the required renewal fee and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
- The permit renewal fees is payable in advance on submission of a completed renewal application form. Payment of the processing fees shall not be a guarantee for issuance of a permit.
- The sugar directorate will review the application and inform the applicants of the success or otherwise of the renewal application using the applicants’ postal address within 28 days after the closure of applications.
- Once the license processing is done the applicant can collect their renewed Molasses permit from their respective Sugar Directorate’s offices.

EligibilityEdit
- Industrial manufacturers, livestock farmers, registered traders and registered exporters who has a valid molasses permits are eligible to make this application.
FeesEdit
- The permit processing fees is charged at GHS. 400.00 per tonne per month up to 10 tonnes , and GHS. 200 per tonne for amounts above 10 tonnes up to a maximum of GHS. 300,000.
- For export quantities, the fees shall be double the local fees.
ValidityEdit
- The certificate is valid for a period of one year.
- The certificate expires on the 30th June of every year.

- Licenses/Permits issued by the Authority expire on the 30th June of every year and license/Permit holders wishing for renewal thereof may apply by 1st June preceding the expiry of the license.
- No renewal applications shall be considered outside this period unless the supply of molasses is in excess of the demand indicated by the applications received in the period specified and which satisfy the criteria set by the Directorate.
- A molasses permit holder shall be renewable by 30th June of every year upon payment of the renewal fees.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- Molasses permits is issued to qualified registered industrial manufacturers who require molasses in their processes, livestock farmers, registered traders and registered exporters.
- One need a molasses permits to handle/ procure large quantities of molasses in Ghana. Therefore one needs to renew their permit to continue with operations.
Information which might helpEdit
- The quantity of molasses requested by each applicant shall be in line with the size of business to which the molasses is intended.
- The application for renewal of permits by all livestock farmers and traders shall be made through the local administration and livestock officers.
- The permit renewal fees is payable in advance on submission of a completed application form. Payment of the processing fees shall not be a guarantee for issuance of a permit.
- The Sugar Directorate shall base its decisions on the national molasses stocks and distribution and the long-term interest of the sugar and related industries when issuing molasses permits.
- If unsatisfied, applicants may appeal to the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture in writing within 28 days of the decision.
- If unsatisfied with the outcome of the appeal the applicant(s) shall be free to seek arbitration through the Sugar Tribunal.
- All permits issued shall expire on 30th June each year.
