Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application for getting a Food-Zanzibar Import permit or license in Tanzania is available in Zanzibar Food and Drug Authority contact link
2. Applicant must provide all information needed in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant must attach photocopies of all documents that are needed for completing this procedure along with the application form and then, submit it to the respective office.
6. Fee for this procedure is mentioned under “Fees” section of this page.
7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the permit will be issued within 95 days to 192 days.
8. Applicant will get a notification regarding the availability of their permit within 95 days to 192 days, via SMS.
9. After getting the notification, applicant can visit the office for getting the permit.
10. If there is no information regarding the license is provided within 95 days to 192 days, applicant can visit the office for getting status of their application.

Any business owner or individual who wants to Import Food-Zanzibar from Zanzibar to Tanzania.

Fee for this procedure is TZS 140,000

Validity

This Import permit is valid for 3 months.
