Procedure

Apply In Person:

1. To apply for Electrical Supervisor Certificate, submit the 750 /- Demand draft in the Favor of Secretary, Electrical Licensing Board, Chennai – 600 032 in any Nationalized bank (SBI, Indian Bank, Union Bank etc).
2. The applicant’s signature and the photo to be affixed in the application should be got attested by a Gazetted Officer (Your area government assistant electrical engineer or deputy chief electrical engineer or any government electrical engineer who is eligible for using government seal).
3. Three copies of the applicant’s passport size photographs must be submitted.
4. Applicant’s signature in triplicate on a separate sheet of paper should be submitted.
5. The applicant must submit age proof in original and Xerox copy should be furnished (Use your ID card which should have the age or use your SSLC or 12th mark sheet).
6. All the columns should be answered in words and figures and no columns should be left blank.
7. Application should be only in the prescribed form.
8. After filling the application, go to Guindy CEIG office. Refer to the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this procedure to check out the location.
9. Meet the office clerk and start the procedure.

• The candidate must be a domicile of India.
• Self-declaration in own hand
• Testimonials of practical experience as an Electrical workman from any Licensed Contractor/Registered Company
• Scanned copy of Passport size photograph.
• Treasury Challan.
• Age proof Certificate. (PAN Card, School leaving certificate, Aadhar card, Birth certificate issued by Corporation / Municipality / Panchayat)
• Address proof (Domicile certificate / Aadhaar Card)
• ITI Electrician pass certificate.
• NCVT certificate.
• All scanned copies should be below 450 kb.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a domicile of India.
• The applicant should possess workmen Permit Class VIII pass.
• The applicant should have diploma or degree in electrical engineering obtained from university in India. The applicant should be a Diploma holder in Electrical Engineering obtained from the A.M.I.E. Certificate in Electrical Engineering with Part A & B.
• Experience: – Two years’ experience in erection or operation and maintenance in High Voltage installation. (or) The applicant should be an Electrical Supervisor Competency Certificate obtained from the Department of Technical Education Chennai.

Fees

• Fees for the admission examination and test with every application Form for the first Certificate of Competency: Rs. 100/-
• Fees for the admission into examination and test with every application Form for each additional or subsequent class of Certificate of competency: Rs. 50/-
• Renewal fees for any class or classes of Certificate of Competency, if done within the time limit: Rs. 30/-
• Penalty for late renewal of Certificate of Competency-
  • If renewed within a period of one year from the date of expiry: Rs. 20/-
  • If renewed within a period of five years from the date of expiry: Rs. 20/- for each year of default.
• Fees for issue of a duplicate Certificate of Competency: Rs. 50/-
• Submit the 750 /- Demand draft in the Favor of Secretary, Electrical Licensing Board, Chennai – 600 032 in any Nationalized bank (SBI, Indian Bank, Union Bank etc).

Note: -

• The above rates shall also be applicable to candidates who have been exempted either partly or wholly from appearing in examination for a Certificate of Competency.
• The fee details may vary according to each state.
  

Validity

• The permits are to be renewed once in 5 years.
