Apply In-Person:
- n order to apply for destitute or deserted wives pension, the applicant has to approach the nearest office of the Collector / Tahsildar / BDO / Circle officer of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department as appropriate.
- Link for contact details Panchayat AND Rural development please select the “contacts” menu to get drop down list. Here, select the appropriate section to get the page to get the details as required. AND link AND link2 AND Panchayat contact link in the given page please select the hyperlink against the respective state as per requirement for contact details.
- Go to the respective office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure and the responsible local department office for this scheme. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
- Complete the application form. Attach the entire required documents as per our “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the designated receiving authority as advised.
- After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted. Please pay the fees/charges if applicable and don’t forget to take the receipt.
- The authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using the computer.*Acknowledgement receipt will be given against every application received. Please collect it and keep it safe for future reference.
- Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting approval for the scheme.
- This application will be processed further. Concerned authorities will verify the applicant’s details and documents.
- ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
- Once the application details and documents are appropriate, this application will be forwarded to the respective VAO/RI/designated authority for inspection and scrutiny.
- These officials will do their due diligence. They will check the credibility of the applicant with the neighbours and do ground level verification. A report will be generated from the above inspection.
- After verification, these applications along with the inspection report will be sent to the respective sanctioning department with the consent of the verification authorities.
- Applicant may be asked to appear before the principle medical officer as advised for the age assessment.
- Concerned sanctioning authority will take the right decision against the appeal based on the above reports.
- The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
- Once approved, the pensioner will be eligible to get the pension from the first week of next month onwards (or as per sanctioned period) Based on the availability of funds.
- Applicant shall revisit the office where they applied for update on their application.
Apply online - e-Sevai Services for Citizen
- Use the following link to reach the e-Sevai portal to apply for an income certificate. Link e-Sevai
- In the given page please enter the login credentials as appropriate at the given prompt and click the “Login” button to login.
- If you are a new user, then select “New User? SignUp here” option under login to reach the register page. Please complete the registration prompt as appropriate and click the “Sign Up” button to register and then login to apply.
- Applicant will reach the online dashboard. Please click on “Services” on the left panel and choose the “Revenue Department” option.
- From the list of services, please select “REV-203Destitute Deserted Woman Pension Scheme (DDWPS)” service.
- Applicant will be redirected to the service page on the Tamil Nadu e-District Web Portal. Please click on the “Proceed” button to continue.
- Here, please enter the “CAN” number at the prompted space and complete the other prompted details. Please click the “Search” button.
- If the “CAN Number” is not obtained, then use the “Register CAN” button to apply for “CAN number”. Applicants will get a CAN number registration page. Please complete the page prompts as appropriate. Under the “Contact Details” section, please enter the details as appropriate and click the ”Generate OTP” button.
- Please enter the received OTP at the prompted space under “Enter OTP” and click the “confirm OTP” button. Now click the “Register” button to get a “CAN Registration Successful” screen with CAN number and then come back to the previous step.
- Once the “search” button is used, the applicant will get the details on the screen. If all are OK, then click the “Proceed” button.
- Applicant will reach “Destitute Deserted Woman Pension Scheme” page. Please complete the page prompt as appropriate.
- Once the details are entered, please hit the “Submit” button to get a page that shows a list of required documents.
- Please go through the details and use the “Upload” button to upload required documents as appropriate, and select the “Make Payment” button to get the payment page. Please follow the page prompt as appropriate and hit the “Confirm payment” button to submit the application online.
- A computer generated acknowledgement will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- This application will be processed further.
- Applicant will get updates about the application status and notification in their registered mobile number.
- Please follow the department’s notification to get the certificate as per applicable norms.
Note:
- The pension amount Rs.1,000/- (or the amount fixed by respective state) will be paid per month.
- The pension can be disbursed through a bank account or through postal.
- Destitute or deserted wives pension is determined in different schemes as named by respective states by the respective social welfare / Women and child welfare department / Municipal department/ revenue department as appropriate.
- Applicant has to bring original documents to the applying office while applying for cross verification purpose and scanning if required.
- Without cross signature on photograph and signature on the undertaking, the application will be rejected.
Apply through eSevai centre
- Please visit any nearby eSevai Centre. Link for centre: Link please use the “Locate your nearby e-Sevai.” option under “Latest News” to get a new page for locating the respective centre.
- Meet the operator and inform the operator for destitute deserted wives pension scheme service requirement.
- The operator will open the required service page. Applicants shall provide the details as required and submit the document for scanning.
- Once the details are entered, please pay the service charge (if any) applicable for the requested service.
- Once the details are processed, an acknowledgement receipt will be provided by the operator. Please keep it safe for future reference.
- The application number details will be sent to your mobile number through “SMS”.
- This application will be processed further. Applicants shall follow the department notification.
- Applicant will be informed about the status of the application you have submitted. If your certificate is generated, you can collect it from your nearby eSevai centre with your acknowledgement receipt.

EligibilityEdit
- Applicant should be citizen of India.
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of the respective state.
- A divorced, separated, abandoned, deserted/destitute women above the age of 30 years (or as per the age limit fixed by respective state) and above is eligible to apply.
- Must be legally divorced or separated or deserted for not less than 5 years (or as per the years fixed by respective state) or with a legal separation certificate from a competent court of law.
- The marital status of the applicant should be divorced / separated.
- Applicant without any income or source of income is eligible (please check with the department for any relaxation).
- Applicant owning fixed assets valuing less than Rs.50,000/- (or as per state norms) are eligible to apply.
- Applicant who has no relatives of 18 years of age and over (relatives are of the following category: son, son’s son and other related persons who normally live together) shall apply.
- No person shall be eligible for the pension, if the person is a beneficiary of any other social welfare pensions.
- The applicant should not be an income tax-payer.

- Under the destitute or deserted wives pension, the eligible candidate is provided a monthly pension as per respective state norms for the social welfare of the candidate.
