Switzerland - Obtain Death Certificate

Civil Registry Office - In Person
- Certified copies of certificates are obtained from the Civil Registry Office where the death was registered.
- Submit a request by completing an application form. Be ready to present a valid ID in case the civil registry officer asked for it.
- It will be good if you would call the Registry Office first before you go there, just to make sure that you have all the documents needed in applying for the procedure. Use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get the contact details of your local Civil Registry Office.
If you are outside Switzerland
You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Swiss diplomatic/consular missions. They may be able to help you submit your request to obtain a certified copy of a death record.
