The hindersprvning has to be approved before the wedding takes place if the marriage shall be considered as legally enforceable.

- Full Name
- Passport or ID number
- Place and Date of Birth
- Nationality

Need for the DocumentEdit
A Single Status Certificate also referred to as a No Marriage Affidavit, Certificate of Freedom to Marry or Certificate of No Impediment, is a sworn statement saying that you are eligible to marry.
Overseas marriage authorities often require further evidence that the party is free to marry. Such evidence may be a statement from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages that there is no record of the person having been previously married or a 'Single Status Certificate' or 'No Records Result'.
Information which might helpEdit
Inquiry into impediments to marriage
Before a couple can marry the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) must conduct an inquiry into impediments to marriage (hindersprvning). To bring about the inquiry, the couple must, themselves, file a written request to the Swedish Tax Agency. Application forms, unfortunately only in Swedish, can be found at the Agencys website.
According to Swedish law, the following conditions are considered impediments to marriage:
- being under the age of 18 (the County Administrative Board (Lnsstyrelsen) can grant an exception from this rule),
- being married or a registered partner with another person than the one you are about to marry, or
- being a close relative to the person youre going to marry (a lineal direct ascendant or descendant, or a full sibling; adopted siblings are considered as full siblings by the law, but can get permission, from the County Administrative Board, to marry).
When the Swedish Tax Agency has made the inquiry into impediments to marriage, it issues a certificate showing that the inquiry is completed and, if all goes well, a marriage certificate. The certificate is valid for four months from the date of certification. The certificates are to be given to the official conducting the marriage ceremony.
Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit
This document will most likely be required as a supporting document if you are getting married in a foreign country.
This document can also be required for employment in a foreign country.

OthersEdit
Please also be aware that a standard Single Status Certificate or Certificate of No Impediment may be insufficient on its own to allow a marriage to take place in a foreign country. You may be required by the foreign authorities to comply with the following, so please ensure that you allow sufficient time for processing.
- Certificates may need to be translated.
- Certificates may need to be endorsed or exchanged for a locally acceptable version issued by your Embassy or Consulate in the country where you will marry.
- Certificates may need to be legalized i.e. stamped with an official stamp known as an Apostille.
- Certificates may require that witnesses swear an Affidavit stating that you are free to marry and that this is appended.
