Procedure

1.) You need a valid driving permit to be able to practice driving and take driving tests for a B license. If you are practice driving for extended B (B96) you must be a B rating holder.

If you do not hold any driver's license, you must first apply for a learner's permit.

2.) You must be able to meet personal and medical requirements for driving license. The Transport Agency will look into your ability to follow traffic rules, and check if you have been taken into custody by the police because you were too drunk, or if you have done any crime.

4.) Taking the mandatory risk training for B license.

It covers two parts:

• Part 1 deals with alcohol, drugs, fatigue, and risky behavior in general.
• Part 2 corresponds to the old risk education (slip banana) and is all about speed, safety and driving under specific circumstances.

When you do your theory and practical test you must have made risk education both. Risk Education for motorcycle does not apply to passenger cars.

Risk training is valid for five years.

If you educate yourself on the driving school you can take up risk education with them. If you choose to educate yourself privately, you will have to contact the trainer in which you want to make your risk education. Information about the price of risk education may vary between driving schools and private tutor.

Once you are done with the risk education curriculum and had it registered and validated, you can now do theory and practical test at the Swedish Transport Administration.

7.) Passing the Test

The theory test consists of 65 questions. In addition, there are five test questions. The answers to the test questions are not included in the results. The test time is 50 minutes. You must correctly answer at least 52 of the 65 questions for the test to be approved.
