Usually companies / businesses obtain Tax Identification Numbers in the due course of registering company. Therefore in order to get one, applicants must go through the company registration process as below:-

1.Applicants start by reserving a name for a company / business. This is done by submitting required documents together with a letter of request for name search and proposed company names to the company registrar. The registrar carries a search and a proposed name is available, the registrar gives preliminary approval;

2.The applicant proceeds with taking the memorandum and articles of association for notarization. The applicant obtains Forms C2 and C2a, fills them and takes them to an authorized lawyer to be certified / notarized;

3.When the above documents have been notarized, the applicant must go ahead and notify the Taxation Chamber about his / her intentions to register company and this is done to request for approval from the chamber. In this case, the applicant submits required document and if approved, the chamber shall insert its stamp on to the submitted documents;

4.Thereafter the documents are submitted to the Zakat Chamber for approval.

5.If approved, the applicant must register with the commercial registry. This is done by submitting all the required documents for final registration of company.

6.When documents are approved at the commercial registrar, an official from the Company Registry is sent to inspect the company offices to confirm its existence before it is fully registered and if it meets all the requirement, the company is registered;

7.Thereafter, the applicant proceeds with applying for a Tax Identification Number. In this case, he / she submits all the required documents to the Taxation Chamber

1.Applicants are argued to register companies before applying for a Tax Identification Number (TIN);

2.Ensure that any filled and submitted forms are signed by all founders;

3.A proposed name may be rejected by the company registrar if it already exists in his / her register or it is almost similar to a registered name in the register;

4.Applicants are advised to follow additional rules and guidelines given by the registrar upon approving a suggested company name;

5.Applicants must proceed with the last registration steps after getting the Tax Identification Number;
