Market research involves gathering information about target customers / market in order to be able to identify and assess how changing elements of the marketing mix impacts customer behavior. At this stage though not a must, traders are encouraged to visit the target mark in order to be able to obtain the require information;

2.The trader then goes ahead to find out the procedure and requirements for importing into the market country. At this stage, the trader should obtain all the documents required in the import / market country;

3.Thereafter, the trader proceeds with preparation of export documents required in order to be able to export from Sudan. At this stage, the applicant must ensure that he / she obtains all the required documents from different authorities basing on the type of goods being exported; therefore the applicant must know the specific documents required for particular products;

  • The customs authority upon receipt of documents are examined, assessed and verified to ensure the declared exports match with the submitted documents;
  • When exports are approved, the authority assesses duties that the export should has to clear before goods are released;
  • When all taxes and duties are cleared, the customs authority releases the imports;

5.The exporter then goes ahead to with port and terminal handling. Here the exporter declares exports to the exit port authority by submitting all the necessary documents to the port authorities. When documents are received, the port authority examines, assesses documents and thereafter verifies exports against the submitted goods.
