Procedure

To obtain a Personal Identification Number, an applicant must register with the civil registry under the Ministry of Interior and below is the process of registration;

1.The applicant should start by finding out the procedure and requirement for registering with the civil registry in order to obtain a PIN. This information may be obtained from the office of the registrar / ministry of interior;

2.Thereafter the applicant goes to identify the most appropriate registration centre in this case, the Directorate of Civil Registration with authorization from the Minister of interior established several registration centres to enable citizens register and obtain National Identification Numbers;

3.When the applicant has identified the most appropriate registration centre, he / she goes to the identified centre and submits application for registration together with required documents to the authority;

4.When documents are received, the authority examines and assesses documents to verify that the applicant is a true national of the country. When documents are approved, the applicant is registered by the registrar as a true national;

5.Upon registration, the applicant shall be issued with a national number document with a personal identification number (PIN) which is used to prove that the applicant has received a the national identification number;
