Applications for tax returns are usually made basing on the tax an applicant wishes to declaration in a given period of time.

1.An applicant should start by fining out the process and period in which returns for a particular tax must be made. This information may be obtained from the countrys revenue authority (the chamber of taxation);

2.When an entity carries out a taxable transaction and the prescribe period of time elapse and the applicant is entitled to file returns, he / she should then start the application process by preparing all the required documents for applying for the related tax return;

3.Thereafter the applicant prepares an application for a tax return and submits it together with all the required documents to the revenue authority (the chamber of taxation);

4.When documents are received, the tax officers at the chamber of taxation examine and assesses submitted documents and if approved, a declared tax is registered and proof of declaration of tax is issued by the Chamber of Taxation; E-mail: [email protected]

6.Late submissions are penalized;

7.Applicants must know that combined applications are not accepted, each company must submit separate returns;

A tax return is a tax form that can be filed with a government body to declare legal responsibility for taxation. Tax returns in Sudan are forms containing information used to calculate particular taxes, filed with the countrys revenue authority the Chamber of Taxation. The taxes of which a person may apply for a return include income tax, VAT, withholding tax, pay as you earn (PAYE) and any other taxes that may be attached to a transaction.
