Procedure

• You need to book an appointment on phone 902 247 364 or online.
• Visit the concerned authority. If minor, must be accompanied by the parent(s) or leagal guardian.
• Fill the application form with the complete information.
• Submit all the necessary documents.
• Pay the prescribed fee.

Required Documents

Adults:

• National Identity of the applicant
• One recent passport photograph of the applicant's face.

Note: The photograph is not required if the ID of the applicant is less than two years old and there are no major changes in the appearance.

Minors:

• Letter of consent from parent(s) or legal guardian
• For children 14 years and older:
  • National Identity of the applicant into force, which will be returned in the act of submission, after checking the data of this paper with those reflected in the application.
  • One recent passport photograph of the applicant's face.
• For those under 14 years:
  • National Identity Document (if in possession)
  • In the absence of DNI, in addition to photography specified, shall provide written certification of birth issued by the Civil Registry and the national identity of the person exercising parental authority or guardianship, except of course, in the latter If the same shall have been assumed by operation of law
  • When the urgency of the trip, the child can not provide the literal birth certificate, for delay in issue by the registrar, may be issued to said person, a passport type B, which limits its validity to three or six months provided that, along with the ID of the person exercising parental authority or guardianship, this family book or judicial or administrative allocation of that protection, and proof of having applied the literal birth certificate
  • Being a foreigner the person exercising parental authority shall provide written certification in addition to the child's birth, the alien identification number or any other identification document issued by official authority.
  • If the child whose passport has already contributed obtaining the registration certificate to which reference has been made, you can choose to submit the previous passport or certification.

Eligibility

Every Spanish citizens have the right to obtain the ordinary passport unless they are in some of the following circumstances:

• Having been sentenced to prison terms or security measures involving deprivation or limitation of their freedom of movement or residence while are extinguished unless they obtain authorization from competent judicial body.
• When the judicial authority has banned shipment or departure of Spain regarding the person concerned is found defendant in a criminal trial.
• Reasoned that it is limited this right by the Ministry of Interior in the scope of the measures to be taken in the cases included in Organic Law 4/1981, of June 1, regulating the states of alarm, emergency and siege.

Fees

The fee for applying for an ordinary passport is 25.50.

Instructions

Starting June 26, 2012, all passports and travel documents must be single-person. Group passports are now invalid except passports and travel documents already issued, until its expiry, failing that there note otherwise of a Member State of the European Union.
