Apply In-Person:

  1. To transfer or change of ownership of a Television license in person, the applicant must visit any nearest Post Office or a retailer authorised to issue TV licences in his/her province.

  3. Contact the SABC and collect details about the office of any SABC office or post office that issues a TV license and also enquire the requirements.
  4. Visit the office as instructed by the SABC or any nearest Post Office and obtain the form (if any) to transfer or change of ownership of a Television License.
  5. Complete the application form as required with necessary and relevant information.
  6. Make sure that you have all the required documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page. Attach them with the completed application.
  7. Pay the required amount of fees as directed. Then, submit it to the concerned official at the Office for further verification and application processing.
  8. After all the processes are completed, you will served as per your requirement.

  • Any person, who possesses a Television license and wishes to change or transfer the ownership of the license, can apply.
  • The person to whom he/she transfers the television license must be his/her spouse or life partner in a permanent relationship and both of them should be sharing the residence.
