South Africa - Online Raise a Service Issue (Complaint) related to Tax

- Step 2 : To apply for raising a service issue related to tax through eFiling, the applicant needs to login to your eFiling account by visiting the following link: Apply online.
- Step 3 : Visit the link and click on the “Login” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.
- Step 4 : Now enter the "Username", click “Next” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image and enter "Password", click “Next” button.
- Step 5 : Otherwise, in the page that appears click “Register” button on the bottom of the page which is highlighted in “Green” in the below image.
- Step 6 : In registration page, enter the personal details and click “Next” button which is highlighted in “Red” in the below image.
- Step 7 : In next page, enter contact and login details and click “Next” button.Complete the registered with the SARS eFiling portal by completing the required actions.
- Step 8 : Now login with the help of the login details as mentioned above and enter the portal.
- Step 9 : After logging in, click “Services” menu and access “Complaints” option under the menu. Then click on “New Complaint” button.
- Step 10 : If your portfolio is individual, click “Next” button, else, click “General” or “Taxpayer Related” button. If you have made the “Taxpayer Related” selection, ‘Click here to select a taxpayer’ hyperlink will be displayed.
- Step 11 : Click on it and ‘Taxpayer search’ screen will appear. Enter your Tax Reference Number in the search screen and click on the search results to get the Complaints Management screen.
- Step 12 : The screen will contain Complaints Management form which will already be filled with details of the selected taxpayer.
- Step 13 : In the individual portfolio, the form will appear just after you click the ‘Next’ button. Complete the form as required with necessary details and click “submit complaint” button.
- Step 14 : After submission, a submission success message will appear. You can also save the completed form for later submission by clicking “save” button.
- Step 15 : Once submitted, Complaint management work page will appear, click “upload supporting documents” in that page and corresponding dialogue will appear.
- Step 16 : Upload the documents by clicking “choose file” button and “upload” button. After completed submitting all the required documents, click “Submit to SARS” button.
- Step 17 : A confirmation message box will appear in which you have to click “Ok” button. Then, you can find the status corresponding to the supporting documents as ‘Submitted’.
- Step 18 : Once you have completed the complaint lodging process, your request will be taken further to the relevant officials.
- Step 19 : Authorities related to that particular service issue will make necessary proceedings about the issue and inform you about the further progress.
