South Africa - Obtain License as Fuel Distributor

Apply In-Person:
- To apply for obtaining license as Fuel Distributor in person, the applicant must visit any nearest Customs office.

- Visit any nearest Customs Office branch and obtain an Application form: Registration/Licensing of Customs and Excise Clients from the respective department. Or click here to download: Link
- The applicant also must complete a annexure for getting licensed as a Fuel Distributor which can be obtained either from the branch office or downloaded by clicking: Link
- Complete the form and annexure as required with relevant details under respective sections. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- After completing, attach all the documents required for the process with the completed form and annexure.
- Then, proceed to submit the package to the relevant authority at the branch office for further processes. Make the necessary payment as directed.
- After all the processes have got completed, the concerned authorities will proceed to make the necessary actions for the registration process.
- The applicant can obtain any information regarding the progress of his/her request, from the office where the application has been made.

- Any individual or juristic person, who wants to get licensed as a Fuel Distributor, can apply.
- Any registered company or business entity is also eligible for getting licensed as a Fuel Distributor.
- The applying entity must have registered for Income Tax before applying.

Need for the DocumentEdit
Any person or business entity who wishes to act on behalf of a foreign principal as a Fuel Distributor must get registered as a Registered agent of Customs and Excise Clients by applying at the Customs office in a prescribed format as specified by the South African Revenue Services.
