Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for registering as a Caregiver for older persons in person, you have to visit at any nearest office of Department of Social Development.
  2. Contact details for office of Department of Social Development in all the provinces in South Africa can be found in the following link:link
  3. Visit any nearest of DSD office and obtain theform 7 for applying as a Caregiver for older people residential facility and please fill the application form as directed and required with all relevant details.
  4. Confirm that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” of this page. Now, attach the documents with the completed application form.
  5. Submit the application form and attached documents to the respective authority at the office.
  6. The authority will go through the application and check the attached documents for their validation.
  7. Once all the necessary processes has been completed, the certificate for Registration as a Caregiver for Older persons will issued by the concerned authority.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any person, who wishes to offer home-based care and service to older persons and are capable of doing to do so, can apply.
  • The person applying should have undergone proper training as a caregiver in an accredited institution by South African Qualification Authority.
