Apply In-Person:
- To apply for registering as a Caregiver for older persons in person, you have to visit at any nearest office of Department of Social Development.
- Contact details for office of Department of Social Development in all the provinces in South Africa can be found in the following link:link
- Visit any nearest of DSD office and obtain theform 7 for applying as a Caregiver for older people residential facility and please fill the application form as directed and required with all relevant details.
- Confirm that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” of this page. Now, attach the documents with the completed application form.
- Submit the application form and attached documents to the respective authority at the office.
- The authority will go through the application and check the attached documents for their validation.
- Once all the necessary processes has been completed, the certificate for Registration as a Caregiver for Older persons will issued by the concerned authority.

EligibilityEdit
- Any person, who wishes to offer home-based care and service to older persons and are capable of doing to do so, can apply.
- The person applying should have undergone proper training as a caregiver in an accredited institution by South African Qualification Authority.

- You can apply for a duplicate if you lose or destroy the original certificate at the Department of Social Development in the prescribed format.
- The registration certificate is issued to the applicant either in hand with prior intimation or by post to your postal address.
