- To Apply for an Appointment as Radiotelephony Examiner, the applicant has to approach the CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY link
- The applicant must have completed an RTE training course conducted by a SACAA-approved aviation training organization (ATO).
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the fee prescribed by the officer.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Further process of verification will be done by the officer.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Also, the applicant may conduct an assessment or examination.
- After completing the process, the applicant gets anAppointment as Radiotelephony Examiner.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- A certified copy of valid FRTOL and pilot's license
- A certified copy of the ID document or passport
- Proof of completion of the RTE training course, such as a certificate or record of completion from the ATO where you completed the course
- A letter of recommendation from an aviation training organization or a licensed pilot who can attest to the knowledge and experience in radiotelephony communication
- Any other required documentation or certificates, as specified by the SACAA

- A person should have a valid Flight Radio Telephony Operator's License (FRTOL) and a valid pilot's license issued by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) eligible to make this application.
