Replace lost passport

  1. Applicants will need to report the lost of the passport to the police.
  2. To apply for a replacement passport, applicants will need to obtain one passport application form either from the Post Office or Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Immigration website (links provided under 'Documents to Use' section) and fill in all the required parts of the form.
  3. Attach the police report to your application form.
  4. Pay the passport replacement fee.
  5. Submit the finished application form at the Immigration Office for assessment.


Replace damaged passport

  1. To replace a damaged passport, applicants will need to obtain one passport application form either from the Post Office or Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Immigration website (links provided under 'Documents to Use' section) and fill in all the required parts of the form.
  2. Pay the passport replacement fee.
  3. Submit the finished application form together with the damaged passport at the Immigration Office for assessment.


If you are outside Solomon Islands :

  1. You must immediately inform the nearest Embassy of Solomon Islands that you have lost your passport. You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" section to get in touch with the nearest Embassy of Solomon Islands in the country you are currently staying.
  2. The Embassy's consular service desk will process your request to obtain a new passport.

Immigration Division

The Immigration Division issues legal travel documents and permits to Solomon Islands citizens and foreign nationals in accordance with Solomon Islands immigration laws and policies. The Division is made up of four Units that are responsible for the issuing of passports and visas and for ensuring that people who travel through Solomon Islands borders, do so legally.

The Passport Unit is responsible for receiving and assessing applications for passports and for the issuing of new passports.

The Unit is also responsible for the issuing of other travel documents such as travel certificates and letters to Solomon Islands nationals and foreigners. The Unit also works with external authorities such as the Solomon Islands Citizenship Commission and the Central Bank of Solomon Islands to ensure that passport issuing records and Passport Stock records remain accurate.
