1. Fill up the application form.

Required Documents

For temporary registration of a vehicle:

1. Last Slovenian vehicle registration certificate if vehicle was registered in Slovenia; all documents proving change of ownership since the last registration of vehicle (e.g. certified sales contract or receipt of vehicle's purchase)
2. Document showing the origin and ownership of certain components of the modified vehicle, if due to these alterations vehicle's data differ from those written on the vehicle registration document
3. Recent proof of vehicle's road worthiness (not older than 30 days) except for vehicles exempt from road worthiness test in accordance with Art. 50 of the Motor Vehicles Act

Eligibility

Eligible for temporary registration are motor vehicles and trailers owned by aliens who were granted temporary residence in the Republic of Slovenia and citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, respectively, holding only a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Slovenia. Also eligible for temporary registration are the vehicles that aliens drive out of the territory of the Republic of Slovenia after the expiry of their residence in Slovenia and vehicles bought in the Republic of Slovenia which will be registered abroad.

Instructions

Aliens can obtain certificates of temporary registration issued on prescribed forms at the administrative unit located in the territory where the clients have their permanent and temporary, respectively, residence or at an organization authorized for the registration of new vehicles.

A registration certificate and the prescribed number of registration plates are issued for the registered vehicle.

Need for the Document

Almost all vehicles bears a unique vehicle identification number, but only registered ones display a vehicle registration plate and carry a vehicle registration certificate.
