Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Request for Personal Dose Monitoring Services, the applicant has to approach National Environment Agency’s Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Division link
2. The applicant has to download and complete the application form given in the following application form
3. The applicant has to complete all necessary details in the application form.
4. Make sure the applicant has all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the documents along with the application form.
6. The fee for this procedure was given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Submit the application form to National Environment Agency’s Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Division either directly or via post. contact details of the office were given in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
8. The authority will review the application and contact the applicant via email or SMS.
9. The processing time of the application takes up to 3 weeks and the applicant Customer will receive the dose report via email.

Eligibility

• Any person who intends to Request Personal Dose Monitoring Services is eligible to make this application.

Fees

• The cost of a non-licensed radiation monitoring service is $15.75 (inclusive of GST) per TLD card per month.
• The cost of each TLD cardholder is $25.20 (inclusive of GST).
• The radiation monitoring service is non-transferable among individuals/machines/locations, and all TLD cards will need to be returned to RPNSD when the subscription ends.
• The cost of each lost/damaged TLD card is chargeable at $54.60 (inclusive of GST). Failure to return the TLD card will be subjected to the same cost as a lost TLD card.

Validity

• The validity is for one year.

Need for the Document

• Under the Radiation Protection (Ionising Radiation) Regulations, any individual who is working with ionizing radiation shall wear a personal radiation monitoring device or dosimeter. Under the IR regulations, any individual licensed to do radiation work shall make approved arrangements for the monitoring of the individual radiation dose received while performing radiation work.
