Procedure

Apply Online

1. To Register as Hawker Assistant (Online), the applicant has to make the application in National Environment Agency e- service portal or tap the following link
2. The applicant needs to login with their Singpass Id number and password.

   Note:
   If you do not have an account you can register by clicking on register for singpass, read the information marked 1 and 2 and agree to the terms and condition and click on register now, no the next page entry your personal information and submit. You will be issued with you Sing Pass ID number and password.

3. The applicant has to choose the appropriate service.
4. The applicant has to fill all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Make sure the applicant has to upload the required document that are mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. After submitting the documents review the application and click submit.
7. Review the application, click the declaration and submit the application form.
8. The minimum processing time for Hawker Assistant (Online)application is 7 working days.
9. The authority will review the application form, upon the successful completion the applicant needs to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority request.

• NRICs of both the stallholder and proposed hawker assistant
• 2 recent passport-sized photographs of the proposed hawker assistant
• Basic Food Hygiene Course certificate for the proposed hawker assistant (for cooked food stalls)

Eligibility

The hawker assistant:

• Must be a Singapore citizen or a permanent resident
• Must be 13 years old and above
• Must not be a stallholder or nominee of any subsidised stall in any NEA managed hawker centre
• Must not be blacklisted or debarred from operating a hawker stall by NEA

Fees

• Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority request.

Validity

• The validity is for one year.

• The stallholder must personallyoperate the stall and is not allowedto sublet the stall.
• The stallholder is required to producedocumentary proof of employment asand when required to do so.
• The stallholder must maintain a list ofregistered food handlers at the stall.
• NEA reserves the right to rejectany application.

Need for the Document

• Stallholders may register hawker assistants to help out at their stall. Stallholders are not allowed to leave the stall operation entirely to their hawker assistants. Hawker assistants must be registered with NEA before they can help out at the stall.
