Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To change name in Identity card (IC) applicant has to approach Immigration and checkpoint Authority contact link
2. Applicant has to collect the application form the authorised officer.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Submit the application form along with the required documents to the respective office.
6. Fee for this procedure is given in the “Fees” section of this page.
7. Upon successful submission the applicant will receive a new identity card within 1 on 2 business days.

Apply Online

1. To apply in online the applicant has to visit immigration and checkpoint authority website’s change of particular’s page link
2. Under” I WANT” Choose the application services you require. i.e. (Self or on behalf of others in case of a minor or disable/elderly/sickly persons)
3. You will be redirected to the next page, if you have an account, enter your Sing pass ID and password and log in

   Note: If you don’t not have an account you can register by clicking on register now, read the information marked 1 and 2 and agree to the terms and condition and click on register now, no the next page entry your personal information and submit. You will be issued with you Sing Pass ID number and password

4. On the next page read through the instruction carefully and fill the applicant form correctly, please verify that all the information is correct
5. Upload the required photo (check the link under required document below for more detail) and submit
6. Pay the required fee using your credit/debits card and submit.
7. Once your process is done the applicant can collect new identity card from the ICA office.
8. The applicant must carry the necessary documents while collecting identity card.

Required Documents

For Applicants via IC Online

• Visa or MasterCard Credit Cards/MasterCard Debit Cards for online payment
• recent digital passport-sized colour photograph-1
• Scanned copy of existing identity card (front and back)
• Scanned copy of registrant’s name in ethnic characters

For Applicants at the Counter

• Current Identity Card
• 1 recent passport size photograph
• Baptism or Religious certificate for insertion of religious name, if any
• Deed poll for change of name, including ethnic name.
• Marriage Certificate for insertion of married name, if any

Note: Bring along the original document and a photocopy.

Processing Time

• Applications via IC Online: 3 working days upon receipt of your application.

Instructions

• Applicants are strongly encouraged to make an appointment for the collection of ICs via the e-Appointment system. Please note that e-appointments have to be made at least 2 working days before the preferred date and time.
• Applicants who are eligible to collect their ICs at the post offices will be able to see, from the e-Appointment system, a list of post offices which offer the IC collection service.
• If eligible, you can choose to collect your IC from any participating post offices. You will be required to make an appointment for the collection of IC via the e-Appointment system. Please note that e-appointments have to be made at least 3 working days before the preferred date and time to collect at one of the participating post office.
