- To get electricity connection, you need to send applications to SP Services Ltd (SPSL) throughout the process.
- You can also visit the SPSL customer service centre for guidelines. Refer the office contact details in the “Office contacts & Locations” section below for address details.
- A Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) should make application on your behalf to SPSL through the SP eBusiness account.
- In the conception/ planning stage, the customer should seek consultation regarding SP Power Assets Ltd (SPPA)’s requirements, such as the provision of a substation, for load connection, etc. The Consultation Form has to be submitted by the customer’s LEW through SP eBusiness portal
- In the initial planning stage, the customer should seek consultation with SPPG about SPPA‘s requirements for a new or modified connection to the transmission system. The LEW will have to submit the online Consultation Form through SP eBusiness portal along with a site/location plan to SPPG.
- After its receipt, the SPPG will reply stating the approved load and other technical requirements. It will provide information regarding provision of substation requirements for the load connection made to the transmission system
- The online Application Form along with a letter of consent and a copy of the site/ location plan should be submitted through SP eBusiness portal by the LEW for new or modified connections of new or existing premises to the transmission system.
- The response is sent to two types of customer categories.
- (a) For a Contestable Customer
- A Consumer Connection Agreement, having the service connection charge payable, the offer letter and information regarding the standard terms and conditions for the distribution service connection.
- If a substation is needed, a letter with the requirements will be sent to the customer. After that, an Agreement will be sent after the substation plans are endorsed.
- (b) For a Non-Contestable Customer
- A Quotation, having service connection charge payable and the conditions of service for the distribution service connection.
- If a substation is needed, a letter with the requirements will be sent to the customer. A Supply Agreement with the service connection charge payable and the terms & conditions for the distribution service connection. It is offered after the endorsement of substation plans.
- (a) For a Contestable Customer
- SPPG will start work only after the Agreement has been signed and received by SPSL, along with payment of service connection charges.
- To start the connection consultation, the customer should submit the online Consultation Form through a LEW through SP eBusiness portal.
- The customer should submit the online Application Form through a LEW via SP eBusiness portal along with a letter of consent.
- A connection proposal which is duly endorsed by the Power System Operator (PSO), is sent as response to the customer.
- After the customer acknowledges the acceptance of SPPG’s connection proposal, SPPG will proceed to execute the Consumer Connection Agreement through SPSL. The Agreement includes an Offer Letter, the standard terms and conditions regarding the connection and an estimation of the connection charges required.
- For energizing and turning on the electricity connection, a SP utilities account needs to be opened.
- After completion of the electrical installation, the LEW books an appointment for inspection and turn-on of the electrical installation.
- You can apply in person or through online method and open a SP utilities account.

- Choose the premises type by clicking on “Residential Premises” or “Commercial Premises”
- Choose whether you want to register your account under “Personal name” or “Company name” by clicking the relevant button.
- Then, click on “Start” button.
- Fill in the required details such as premises details, personal information, company information, etc by clicking on the appropriate buttons to proceed with the application.
- Upload the required documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Review and check whether you have provided the correct information.
- Pay the required fee using your preferred payment mode and submit it by clicking on the “Submit” button.
- You will be notified of the outcome through email or SMS.
- Once your account is created, you can login by typing the credentials in the SP Utilities Portal in the link:online link
- For SP Utilities mobile app, click on the link:online link
- Install the SP Utilities app by clicking on the “Install” button in the Google Playstore
- After installation, click on “Open” button in your mobile.
- Read the Terms and Conditions carefully and click on “I Acknowledge” button.
- Click on “Start” button and log in by typing the credentials and clicking on “Log in” button.
- You can also open SP utilities account by visiting SP customer service centre.
- Refer the office contact details in the “Office contacts & Locations” section below for address details.
- Collect the application form from the office or you can download it from the link:online link
- Now complete the form with the necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below with the completed application form.
- Check the application form and then submit it to the concerned authority.
- Now pay the required fee to the concerned authority.
- The officer after validating the application form and the documents will provide you with an acknowledgement/receiving slip.
- They will create an SP account for you using the details.
- Then you can set up your SP account and operate it with their guidance.
- After opening the account, you need to fix a date and time slot for turn-on appointment which is required to turn on the new electricity connection.

- You can manage the utilities consumption and make bill payments through the account with ease.

- Note: To be authorised by Director listed in ACRA detailed Business Profile/ Bizfilerecently on the company’s letterhead, with the company's representative's name and identification number i.e NRIC or FIN.
- Documentary proof of occupancy of premises (e.g Tenancy Agreement or property tax)
- An initial security deposit is payable at the point of application (Please click on "initial security deposit" link for more information.)
- Latest ACRA detailed Business Profile or Bizfile
- A copy of your NRIC or FIN.
- Copy of Electrical Installation License Requirement Form (EIL Form) after completion and signing, if the electricity load is above 45 kVA.
- For temporary supply of electricity, the Quotation for Electricity Supply Connection and LEI issued by EMA are required.
- Identity Card/Passport of owner/tenant or company letter of authorisation for authorised signatory
- Copy of Business/ Company Registration Certificate
- Bank account book to effect GIRO deduction from the account
- Upfront initial deposit
