Procedure

Apply Online

1. To Apply for Food Shop License, the applicant has to make the application in GoBusiness licensing portal link
2. Enter a search “Food Shop Licence” then click on "Add to selection"> click on "Review and Apply" and then click the "Proceed" button.
3. The applicant can also make a search by clicking the “Government Agencies” and select “Singapore Food Agency” SFA and choose the appropriate service.
4. The applicant needs to login with their Singpass Id number and password

   Note: If the applicants don’t not have an account, then they can register by clicking on register now, read the information marked 1 and 2 and agree to the terms and condition and click on register now, on the next page enter their personal information and submit. they will be issued with the Sing Pass ID number and password.

5. The applicant has to provide the general information and application details.
6. The applicant will receive an In- principle Approval (IPA) via email from the Singapore Food Agency.
7. The applicant has to prepare the documents stated in the IPA and upload them in GoBusiness licensing portal under "submitted documents" tab of the application that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
8. After successful submission Book pre-licensing inspection make an appointment for inspection 7 days in advance via SFA online feedback form at – feedback form
9. The authorized officer will inspect the supermarket. Upon full compliance to licensing requirements and submission of required documents, SFA will approve the application. The applicant will receive a notification via email and GoBusiness within 3 working days.
10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee which is given “Fees” section of this page.
11. SFA will post out the hardcopy licences within 7 working days upon successful payment.

• Basic food hygiene certificate/Refresher food hygiene certificate and Work Permit
• Valid HACCP certificate accepted by SFA

Fees

The processing fee to obtain food shop license is $195.00

Validity

The validity of the license is one year.

Need for the Document

Every person needs to apply for a Food Shop Licence if he/she intend to operate a retail food outlet where food and/or drink are sold wholly by retail. This is a requirement under the Environmental Public Health Act.
