Online Application
Applications in Person
  1. Go to the Citizen Services Centre, 3rd Storey, ICA Building, Registry of Births & Deaths, Citizen Services Centre, 10 Kallang Road (next to Lavender MRT station), Singapore 208718.
  2. Proceed to obtain a Q-number and Extract application form.
  3. Complete Extract application form and wait to be called.
  4. Obtain receipt for collection after the application is processed.

  • Applicant's Identity Card
  • Certified copy of applicants official identification document (e.g. passport, driver's license, etc) (if the applicant is not a Singapore Identity Card holder)

Additional Information: If the extract will be collected by a proxy of the applicant, the following documents are needed:

  • Letter of authorization stating the proxy's name and identification number
  • Proxys identification document (IC/passport)
  • Official payment receipt or the application reference number

EligibilityEdit

Any person can apply for a certified birth extract under the Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD) Act.



FeesEdit

  • Birth extract: S$40
  • Search fees:
    • S$38 for a 1-month search period
    • S$38 for every additional 1 month search period or part thereof

Notes:
For Online Applications: payment should be made by VISA/Mastercard Credit Card or Mastercard Debit Card.

For Applications in Person: payment should be made by NETS or CashCard.

Processing TimeEdit

Birth extract can be processed in 1 week if search is not required. However, there are cases which will take longer time and the applicant will just be contacted if the extract is ready for collection.

  • Local applicants may choose to receive the document by post or collect it personally or by proxy at an ICA service counter.
  • Overseas applicants will receive the certified birth extract by post.

A Birth Extract is a certified true copy of the Birth Certificate. In Singapore, a certified extract can be applied in person or online from the Registry of Births and Deaths.
