- Fill the application at the office and submit it.
- Please attach the documents mentioned in “Required documents” section of this page.
- Pay the required fees to the concerned person at the booking office before burial through different payment modes such as NETS, Cash card or Credit card. After payment, collect the acknowledgement and keep it safe for future reference.
- The permission to bury will be issued which has to be produced before burial.
- For cancellations and changes to confirmed bookings, the applicant or next-of-kin of the deceased can visit the booking office, together with all relevant documents.
For cremation:

- There are three crematoria in Singapore which are one government-managed crematorium, and two private crematoria.

- If you are an individual, then click on “Apply with SingPass” button.
- Log into the SingPass account by typing the “SingPass ID” and “Password” if you have account. Otherwise, you can create account by clicking on “Register now” button.
- Fill in the required details and submit them to finish booking.
- In case of organization, you can click on “Apply with CorpPass” button.
- Log into the CorpPass account by typing the ”UEN/Entity ID”, “CorpPass ID” and “Password” if you have account. Otherwise, you can create account by clicking on “Register now” button.

- Fill in the required details and submit them to finish booking.

For Coffin (import) permit:
- You can visit the Port Health office to apply.
- Refer the office contact details in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section below for address details.
- Collect the application form from the office.
- Now complete the forms with the necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below with the completed application form.
- Check the application form and then submit it to the concerned authority.
- Pay the required fees to the concerned person at the office through different payment modes such as NETS, Cash card or Credit card, etc. After payment, collect the acknowledgement and keep it safe for future reference.
- The officer after validating the application form and the documents will provide you with an acknowledgement/receiving slip.
- Once it is processed, you will be informed.
- The applicant will be required to carry the acknowledgement/receiving slip when going to collect the permit from the office.

(i) If applicant is not a next-of-kin, then Letter of Authorisation is required. (ii) If applicant is not a next-of-kin and deceased was a resident in Stay-in-Care or MSF residential home (RH), then Letter of Authorisation for Stay-in-Care (Hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, shelters and senior group homes are referred to as Stay in care) Resident and Residential Home (RH) is required.
For Niche
- Death Certificate (original)
- Identification Papers of Next-of-kin and Applicant (e.g. NRIC, passport, etc.)
- Letter of Authorisation (if applicant is not a next-of-kin)
For coffin permit
- Death Certificate issued by the country where death occurred (an English-translated copy is required if the death certificate is in ethnic languages)
- Cause of Death Certificate or a Statutory Declaration
- Sealing Certificate for the coffin (an English-translated copy is required)
- Embalming Certificate, where applicable (an English-translated copy is required)
- Coffin Export Permit from the country exporting the body
- Air Way bill (Air Consignment Note) (optional)
- Any other documents required by the local authorities
- Letter of authorization from deceased’s next of kin (If application is submitted by the funeral director)

EligibilityEdit
- The deceased should be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- If the deceased is a foreign national, the next of kin to the deceased should be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident to get a permission to bury.
- Deceased Foreign nationals can get a place in private columbaria niche but not in the government based columbaria

- Choa Chu Kang Muslim Cemetery, Choa Chu Kang Ahmadiyya Jama'at Cemetery, Choa Chu Kang Jewish Cemetery, Choa Chu Kang Parsi Cemetery, Choa Chu Kang Bahai Cemetery:$140 for child under 10 years old and $315 for adult
- Cemeteries at Choa Chu Kang Cemetery other than those listed above e.g. Christian, Chinese, Hindu, Lawn: $420 for child under 10 years old and $940 for adult
For Cremation
- At Government crematorium: $50 for child under 10 years old and $100 for adult
- At private crematoria the price varies:
- At Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery: $300(cremation only), $400(cremation + urn storage)
- At Tse Toh Aum Temple: $400(cremation only), $500 (cremation + urn storage)
For Niche
- At Government columbaria: $ 500 (standard), $900 (family)
A $250 selection fee will be charged to choose a different location from that allocated.
For Coffin permit, the fee is $17.50

Information which might helpEdit
- Since1 November 1998, the burial period for all graves in the cemetery will be limited to 15 years. After 15 years, the graves will be exhumed. For those who permit cremation, the remains will be cremated and stored in niches. For those who mandate burial due to religious laws, the remains will be re-buried in smaller individual plots.
- The bodies of deceased foreigners can be imported into Singapore for burial on condition that the immediate next-of-kin of the deceased person is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. Otherwise, it is not possible to import into Singapore for burial because of the limited size of Singapore’s burial grounds.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) is responsible for providing after death services like cremation, burial, and columbarium. The deceased can be buried or cremated, as per the wishes and religion of the deceased. After cremation, the ashes can be stored in columbaria niches. When death occurs overseas, the body of a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident may be brought back into Singapore to be cremated or buried. A Coffin (Import) Permit is required to bring the deceased into Singapore. A funeral director may help in the procedures.
