While renting out a property in Sikkim, one has to register the Tenant or Paying Guest’s details with the Police for Tenant Verification.
Apply In-Person:
- To register Tenant’s details with the police, get the Tenant Verification form from the nearest Police Station.
- You could also download the form from the Employees/ Domestic Servants/Tenants Section in the link: Application Form
- In the procured form, fill the details of who the form is addressed to.
- Fill the required details of the Tenant.
- Attach a copy of the required Documents such as Id Proofs.
- Affix the Passport size photograph of the Tenant.
- Duly sign the form and submit the form at the concerned Police Station of your Jurisdiction Sikkim Police Stations.
- The Police would ask the Tenant to visit the Police Station if any verification is necessary.
- The Police would keep a record of the Tenant’s information and would inform the landlord if the Tenant is a criminal or a troublemaker.

- According to the “The Sikkim Tenants and Domestic and Professional Helps (Compulsory Verification) ACT, 2008” one has to register their Tenant’s details with the police withing 30 days of renting out the property.
- The property owner or Tenant has to visit the Police Station for verification if necessary.
- Please fill all the mandatory fields before submitting the application.
- Make sure you provide valid details.
- Legal action could be taken in case any discrepancy was found in the details provided.
