Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To obtain Authorization to Renovate the Facade, the person concerned should visit the Urban Planning Department, at the City Hall in Dakar (please view the “office location and contact” section below} for the address details.
2. Express your interest to the receptionist/ secretariat front desk and collect all the necessary Façade Application forms and fill them accurately.
3. Submit the completed forms, attach to the supporting document file {as listed under required document section below} to the department concerned attending officer.
4. The officer will then verify, if all the necessary information and documents have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria, if everything is in order, you will be issued with an invoice indicating the tax amount that is to be paid.
5. It is only after the deposit of the complete file and the payment taxes that the application file will be registered and recorded and applicants will be issued with an acknowledgment letter containing details of your application.
6. The application file will then be forwarded to the competent authority/department for evaluation and consideration of the request, which is in 3 weeks maximum.
7. If approved an authorization to renovate the façade document/permit will be drawn up, signed, and stamped by the authorized official and made available for withdrawal by the applicant, against his/her identity card and the acknowledgment letter.

• The owner of the building within the city of Dakar

Fees

• The tax to be paid depends on the nature of the work: it varies between 50,000 FCFA and 200,000 FCFA.

Validity

• The validity of the permit is mentioned on the building facelift permit

• Anyone who owns a building can request facades to be renovated from the Urban Development Department of the city of Dakar.
