Procedure

1. To obtain a Certificate of Residence, go to the police station or gendarmerie which has jurisdiction over your area of residence.
2. The applicant must be able to present all the required documents.
3. Pay all necessary fees.

Note: In case the Certificate of Residence was lost or stolen, a copy may be requested from the same police station or gendarmerie which issued the certificate. The procedures to be followed will be the same.

• Completed application form
• Proof of address (utility bill, water or landline)
• A stamp in the amount of 150 FCFA
• The applicant must be able to present his/her original national identity card.
• For Foreigners: must present their alien identity card.

Any person residing in Senegal permanently may obtain a certificate of residence.
