Procedure

1. Gather all documents needed to be presented to obtain a certificate of divorce.
2. Submit your request to obtain the certificate to the civil registry where the civil marriage was registered or in the place where former spouses was registered when they were born (if it is mentioned in the act)
3. Pay all necessary fees.

Note: Same procedures are followed in case the certificate of divorce was lost or stolen.

Fees

Administrative fee to obtain a divorce certificate varies depending on the locality issuing the certificate:

• In municipalities, the amount to be paid ranges between 200 to 500 FCFA
• In rural communities, the amount to be paid ranges between 75 to 150 FCFA
