ProcedureEdit

1.An applicant start by visiting the offices the 'Direction du Travail et de la Scurit Sociale' to find out the procedure and requirements for obtaining a work permit in Senegal. The same information can also be obtained from the Ministry of Interior;

2.When the above information is obtained, the applicant prepares all the necessary documents and makes copies of the same. Here the applicant must ensure that all documents are true copies and in a recognized language (French). Documents not in French must be translated and certified as true copies by authorized personel;

3.After compiling all documents, the applicant prepares an application letter for the Work Permit addressed to the Ministry of Interior and submit it together with all the necessary documents to the 'Direction du Travail et de la Scurit Sociale';

4.When application is received, documents are examined and assessed to see if application meets all the requirements;

5.If approved, the applicant is issued authorization to stay in country for a given period of time and a foreign identification is issued as proof

1.Applicants are advised to submitted type application letters;

2.An applicant must have a valid passport with valid visa and also showing the date on which the applicant arrived in Senegal;

3.An applicant must be of good character;

4.An applicant must be of good health;

5.An applicant must have a repatriation guarantee;

6.Applicants who are exempted from having repatriation guarantee must obtain exemption certificate from ministry of interior;

7.It is easier to obtain a worker permit if one has sponsorship;

8.Sponsorship is usually from the prospective employer in Senegal;

9.The employer must be ready to confirm employment and prove that the applicant will be earning during his / her stay in the country;

10.Applicant must know that a work permit issued is usually attached to one employer, therefore if wishes to change work, he / she is required to acquire a new work permit;

11.Applicants must know that employment contracts must be approved by the Ministry of Labour in order for a work permit to be issued to a foreign ;

12.Applicant are argued to renew permits upon expiration;
