Apply In-Person

  1. As soon as a Senegalese nationalist living abroad decides to return to Senegal for good, he/she can apply for a removal certificate at the Embassy or Consulate of Senegal in the country of residence, in countries where there are no Senegalese embassy or consulate, applicants should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Directorate of Legal and Consular Affairs office for assistance. (Please view address details, under office location & contact section below).
  2. Submit the request letter, attached to the supporting documents “as mentioned below” to the competent diplomatic or consular authority to be verified.
  3. The attending officer will then verify, if all the necessary information and documents have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria, if everything is in order, you will be advised to purchase a fiscal stamp of 2000 FCFA and then issued with an acknowledgment letter containing details of your application.
  4. Your application file will then be forwarded to the ambassador/consul for processing and consideration, which is within 10 working days.
  5. If approved the removal certificate will be made available for withdrawal by the applicant at the embassy/consulate office, against your identification document and the acknowledgment slip.

  • The list of effects (designation, number, characteristics, etc.)
  • The gray card in case of importation of a vehicle (vehicles over 8 years old do not enter Senegal unless the person can prove that he is the owner of the vehicle at least six months before returning definitively to Senegal)
