Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a Demolition Permit, the person concerned should visit the Ministry of Town Planning, Housing and Public Hygiene (MULHP), Regional urban planning service office, where the building is located. (please view the “office location and contact” section below} for the address details.
2. Express your interest to the receptionist/ secretariat front desk and collect all the necessary Demolition Permit Application forms and fill them accurately.
3. Submit the completed forms, attach to the supporting document file {as listed under required document section below} to the department concerned attending officer.
4. The officer will then verify, if all the necessary information and documents have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria, if everything is in order, you will be issued with an invoice indicating the town or municipal tax amount that is to be paid,

   • NB: The town planning tax is payable to the collector of Domains and the municipal tax is payable to the municipal collector

5. Upon making payment at the office concerned and present the payment receipt to the Regional urban planning service office to be validated by the officer concerned
6. It is only after the deposit of the complete file and the payment taxes that the application file will be registered and recorded and applicants will be issued with an acknowledgment letter containing details of your application.
7. The application file will then be forwarded to the competent authority/department for evaluation and consideration of the request, which is in 2 weeks maximum.
8. If approved the demolition permit will be drawn up, signed, and stamped by the authorized official and made available for withdrawal by the applicant, against his/her identity card and the acknowledgment letter.

Required Documents

• A request addressed to the mayor of the municipality or the president of the Rural Council
• A copy of the title deed (land title, occupancy permit, lease, or surface right)
• An extract from the cadastral plan of the plot of land
• An inventory of the building
• A fiscal stamp of 500 FCFA

NB: The cadastral plan of the land can be obtained from the Cadastre services.

Eligibility

• Any owner of built-up land or a duly authorized representative is eligible to apply.

Fees

The total cost varies by locality, as follows:

• A town planning tax of 2,000 FCFA
• A municipal or rural tax, the amount varies according to the rural community concerned.

• The validity of the permit is indicated on the permit
