Senegal - Apply for Naturalisation
ProcedureEdit
- To apply for naturalization, go to the Department of Civil Affairs and the Seal of Senegal.
- Write a request to the Minister of Justice and submit it along all other required documents.
- It will take about a year for your application to be processed. Once your request to be a Senegalese national is approved, a naturalization decree will be issued.
- The application process is free, however applicant shall pay the Treasury of Chancery dues amounting to 100,000 FCFA after signing the naturalization decree.
Required DocumentsEdit
- A written request to the Minister of Justice
- A literal copy of the birth place of birth
- For applicants who are married:
- Copy of the marriage certificate
- Certificate of Nationality of the spouse or partner
- Birth Certificate of the spouse or partner
- For applicants with children: Extract from the register of birth for each child
- A criminal record no.3 issued from the applicant's birth place
- A certificate of residence issued by the prefect of residence
- An inspection certificate and cons-visit
- A certificate of good conduct
- A certificate of taxation or non taxation issued by the Head of Centre Tax Services

EligibilityEdit
A foreigner aged 18 and over may apply to be a naturalized citizen of Senegal if he/she:
- has been residing in Senegal for 10 years
- has been residing in Senegal for 5 years and had married a Senegalese national
- has been residing in Senegal for 5 years notwithstanding

The application process is free, however applicant shall pay the Treasury of Chancery dues amounting to 100,000 FCFA after signing the naturalization decree.
