Apply Online:

  1. To Obtain a Disabled Parking Permit (Blue Badge), the applicant has to make the application online via the following link
  2. The applicant has to click the “Apply online” button.
  3. The applicant has to click “Start Now” to make the online application.
  4. Next, the applicant has to answer the questionnaires and complete the application form will all the necessary details.
  5. Next, the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Review the application and click “Submit”
  7. The fee for this procedure is free of cost.
  8. The Department of Transport will send the applicant a confirmation email once he/she has applied.
  9. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  10. Once everything is accepted the authority will send the permit by post.
  11. The entire process can be completed within 7 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  • A recent head and shoulders digital photo
  • The applicant’s national insurance number (if the applicant has one)
  • Contact details (phone number, email and postal address)

  • Driving licence
  • Marriage or civil partnership certificate
  • Divorce or dissolution certificate


To prove your address, you can provide a copy of either:

  • A recent council tax bill

  • Driving licence
  • A recent letter from a school (if you are under 16)

EligibilityEdit

The applicant may be eligible for a badge if one or more of the following applies:

  • The applicant cannot walk at all
  • Applicant cannot walk without help from someone else or using mobility aids
  • The applicant finds walking very difficult due to pain, breathlessness, or the time it takes
  • walking is dangerous to his/her health and safety
  • The applicant has a terminal illness, which means they cannot walk or find walking very difficult and have a DS1500 form
  • The applicant has a severe disability in both arms and drives regularly, but cannot operate pay-and-display parking machines
  • The applicant has a child under the age of 3 with a medical condition that means the child always needs to be accompanied by bulky medical equipment
  • The applicant has a child under the age of 3 with a medical condition that means the child must always be kept near a vehicle in case they need emergency medical treatment
  • the applicant is constantly a significant risk to themselves or others near vehicles, in traffic, or in car parks
  • Applicant struggles severely to plan or follow a journey
  • Applicants find it difficult or impossible to control their actions and lack awareness of the impact they could have on others
  • Applicant regularly has intense and overwhelming responses to situations causing temporary loss of behavioral control
  • Applicant frequently becomes extremely anxious or fearful of public/open spaces
