- To Apply for Hunting License, the applicant must email their completed application to Scotland Nature Agency – link
- The applicant has to download the application form from the following link – link
Note: There are different types of hunting licenses in Scotland, depending on the species the applicant wants to hunt. For example, the applicant needs a different license to hunt deer than he/she does to hunt grouse
- The applicant must fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant must attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Email all the documents with the completed form to the Scotland Nature Agency [email protected]
- Nature Scot doesn’t charge licence application fees. Nor is there a charge when they issue the applicant with a licence.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
- The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
- Once everything is accepted the authority will issue the license via email.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old and have a valid firearms certificate or shotgun certificate.
- The applicant must also be fit and competent to shoot, which means he/she has the knowledge and skills to use a firearm safely and effectively.

- Nature Scot does not charge licence application fees. Nor is there a charge when we issue he/she with a licence.
