Applying process in Saint Kitts and Nevis for citizen and non citizen.

a. Apply in-Person.
  1. Applicant shall apply for Police Clearance Certificate in person with “Criminal Records Office - Police Headquarters ”.
  2. Address:

  3. Go to the respective office. Application forms can be obtained from the office on visit. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
  4. Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
  5. This application will be processed by respective department.
  6. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in person upon notification or issued as per norms.


Applying process - overseas for citizen and non citizen.

A. Apply through mail(post).
  1. Applicant has to apply with the “Criminal Records Office - Police Headquarters” office to obtain the PCC through mail(post).
  2. Applicant has to fill the application form as obtained from the embassy. Once the application is filled in, please attach the completed application, required document and fee paid details.
  3. Mail(post) these set of documents to:

    Royal St Kitts & Nevis Police Force,
    PO Box 189, Basseterre, ST KITTS.

  4. This application received will be processed by respective department.
  5. The certificate will be delivered to the applicant as per norms.

  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.

Each individual has the right to contact any police station or the judiciary for the purpose of ordering a certificate regarding his or her criminal record, which will be sent according to the law, directly to foreign missions, to missions abroad or to international adoption agencies, depending on the available data.

It is the applicants responsibility to contact the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary police certificates or clearances. Each countrys procedures are different. Applicants may have to apply to more than one level of government or more than one agency - municipal, provincial, state, federal and the police, courts or similar governmental agencies for the police certificate. If a police certificate cannot be obtained from any of the countries on the list, provide a written explanation why and an original letter from the police authority confirming that it will not issue a certificate.

In most cases, you must contact the police or government to ask for a certificate. You may have to:

  • provide information or documents, such as photographs, fingerprints, or your addresses and dates that you lived in the country or territory, and
  • pay a fee.

  • You should apply in person with valid photo identification, any change-of-name documents, addresses in St. Kitts and Nevis and the applicable fees at Criminal Records Office, Police Headquarters.



Non-Resident Requests

  • You should apply at Criminal Records Office, Police Headquarters, including any change-of-name documents, previous addresses in St. Kitts and Nevis, a set of fingerprints taken by a recognized police authority, a certified photograph and the applicable fees.

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

Police certificate is also known as good citizen certificate, good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, or judicial record extracts. Applicants may have to submit fingerprints and certain personal information to request a criminal record check, and the police or government agency may charge a fee. If no record found, the police certificate will indicate such.

The applicant must provide a full set of his/her fingerprints, preferably taken at their nearest police station. The applicants full name, surname, date of birth, place of birth and identity number must also be recorded on the fingerprint form. A copy of the applicants identity document or passport must accompany the application. The applicant must present their identity document at the police station, as proof of identity will be required.

Police clearance (Good Conduct) Certificate is an important document which serves as a proof that the person has no criminal record or previously involved in criminal, breach of trust cases or violation of law both in his home country and during his residence in St Kitts and Nevis.
