- First obtain the Notice of Arrival of goods from the warehouse where the goods are being kept by presenting the custom declaration number to the warehouse attendant.
- Then go to the Rwanda Bureau of Standards (RBS) to submit the notice of arrival of goods for verification by the RBS including all the supporting documents i.e. Goods invoice, packaging list and any other documents required for specific goods.
- Then visit the Rwanda Revenue Authority, and present the Notice of Goods Arrival and the transit document T1 to the Revenue Tally Officer, then the officer will check whether the goods indicated on the import documents match the actual goods on the goods arrival notice and if it matches, you will be issued the goods manifest
- Book an appointment with a clearing agent and submit all the import documents to the clearing agent for tax calculation. Then pay the agency handling fee and obtain the assessment notice
- Visit the banque commericiale du Rwanda or any of its branches and pay the fee as mentioned in the assessment notice and obtain the tax payment receipt
- Obtain an invoice of the warehouse handling fee and pay the required fees by the warehouse
- Once the taxes and warehouse storage fees have been paid, Rwanda revenue authority and the tally officers verify the goods physically to make sure that they correspond to the declared goods then they will issue you the goods exit note.
- Present the goods exit notice to the warehouse to take your goods from the warehouse to the final destination
