Procedure

• To obtain a Laissez Passer make sure you have the required documents that are listed under the Required Documents section of this page.
• You could contact the Rwanda Embassies to get an emergency travel document or you could get in touch with Rwanda Immigration Department who could help you out. Following are some information which can be used.

Required Documents

For applicants 16 years and above for First Application

• A recommendation letter issued by the administrative cell level.
• A copy of valid identity card upon presentation of the original identity card
• One recently taken colored passport size photos with the white background
• Receipt of 10,000Rwf from Rwanda Revenue Authority.
• Completed application form
  
  

For applicants 16 years and above for Second Application

• A copy of valid identity card upon presentation of the original identity card
• One recently taken colored passport size photos with the white background
• A bank slip of 10,000 Rwf paid to RRA
• A copy of previous laissez passer and the original should be presented to migration officer.

Eligibility

• A Laissez-Passer is issued to all the Rwandan who would like to travel to the following countries: The Republic of Burundi, The Democratic Republic of Congo ,The Republic of Kenya ,The United Republic of Tanzania , The Republic of Uganda ,The Republic of South Soudan.
• All applicants should be above 18 years of age, if you are below 16 you would have to be helped by your guardians or parents.

Fees

For applicants 16 years and above for First Application
10,000 Frw

Validity

Valid for two years.

A laissez passer is obtained within 2 working days.
