Procedure

Residents of Rajasthan, can transfer the ownership of an existing water connection through the following procedure.

Apply In-Person:

1. To transfer Name for Water Connection, the applicant has to approach the respective PHED sub division office in your area link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Fill all the required details of the form.
6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
8. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
10. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
11. Site verifications will be made by the authority officers if required.
12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
13. Once the process is completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
14. For further process, the applicant has to follow the instructions given by the officer.
15. After this verification, your request will be further processed by the authorities and the necessary changes will be made in the computer records within the next billing cycle.

• Affidavit in the stamp paper of required value
• N.O.C/Death Certificate of Previous Owner/Indemnity Bond having clause of NOC, no dispute on ownership of the property as applicable
• Address proof and Id proof of the applicant from the following:
• Aadhaar card
• Driving Licence
• Ration card
• Voter ID
• PAN Card

Note: Other required documents have to be submitted if necessary. Carry the original and photocopy of the necessary documents for any cross verifications to be made.

Eligibility

• Residents of Rajasthan, who wish to transfer water connection ownership from the previous owner.

Fees

• Service processing fee Rs. 110.
• In addition to this, other fee such as security deposit may also be required.

Validity

• The name change is valid till the change of next ownership due to sale of the property or other reasons.

• All the water charge dues or arrears of the previous ownership has to be cleared before applying for the transfer of new ownership.

Need for the Document

• A water bill is one of the utility bills which could be used as address proof for banks, passports, etc.
• The water bill will always bear the previous owner’s name until it is changed to a new ownership. For this reason, it is always advisable to change the ownership of water connection when purchasing a new property or after legal succession.

Information which might help

• The new consumer might be asked to change the water meter if it is not in working condition.
• One has to pay the monthly dues regularly. Reconnection charges might be levied on the consumer if the connection was disconnected due to pending dues.
