Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for renewal of certificate of vehicle registration in Rajasthan, the applicant has to approach the RTO office of the area.
   
2. Information related to the RTO offices and registering authority can be obtained from the “Office and Location” Section of this page.
   
3. You will have to submit Application in front of registering authority within seven days of purchase of vehicle along with the documents.
   
4. The application shall be made in application Form no-25 to the RTO
   
5. The application form no 25 can be downloaded through following link: FORM-25
   
6. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
7. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
8. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
9. The physical inspection and verification of the vehicle is done in the respective office with the Transport Inspector posted before processing for renewal.
   
   

Apply online via State Portal

1. You can also apply for renewal of vehicle registration online via state portal: Link
   
2. Inspection of vehicle is to be done before processing for registration renewal. For physical inspection and verification of the vehicle you will have to present the vehicle to the respective office with the Transport Inspector posted for this purpose.
   
3. Once the verification is done, RTO officer will give log in id and password and further you can complete the process online.
   
4. The payment of registration fees if is more than Rs. 5000 has to be done online. The online payment details can be obtained via the following link: online payment portal

6. Select e-services, national register
   
7. You will be redirected to the national portal page where you can log in using the user id given at RTO office.

Apply Online via Vahan National e-registration service

1. You can also apply for a renewal of vehicle registration through the National Portal, the following link will give you access to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India: Vahan, National e-registration service
   
2. Applicant needs to take his vehicle for inspection and verification
   
3. Applicant is given a user id and password at the RTO office
   
4. After verification and inspection, applicant can complete the process online via the Vahan website.
   
   

Apply via National Portal - Rajasthan Renew Certificate Of Vehicle Registration Online with Images

1. You can also visit website and select “vehicle related services” from the drop down menu of online services.
   
2. Enter the vehicle’s registration number and click proceed
   
3. From the online service menu select the service “Renewal of Registeration”
   
4. Enter the Chassis Number and click on “validate chasis and registration number” tab
   
5. Fill the Applicant Details as instructed and required.
   
6. Enter the OTP received and Click on Show details.
   
7. Enter further details as per the form displayed.
   
8. Click Submit and then Confirm and Make Payment
   
9. Once Payment Done, Print Receipt.

Guidelines for application

• Apply for renewal of certificate of registration in Form 25 to the Registering Authority in whose jurisdiction the vehicle is, not more than 60 days before the date of its expiry
  
• Pay the due taxes on vehicle, if any
  
• Pay appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989

Need for the Document

• Every registration certificate is required to be renewed not more than 60 days before the date of its expiry of the registration for its continuous use. Renewal of the vehicle registration certificate is important as Vehicle Registration is mandatory under the law and is essential to prove the ownership of a vehicle. It is also required during the sale of a vehicle and transfer of its ownership.
