Procedure

1. Please locate your nearest RTO office from the Office Locations and Contacts section of this page.
2. Download Application Form 20 or it can be obtained from the RTO office.
3. Make sure you have all the required documents that are listed under the "Required Doucments" section.
4. Submit all the completed application forms with the required documents along with the appropriate fees in the RTO office.
5. Once the document verification is done successfully, you will be asked to bring your vehicle for verification.
6. After verification of the vehicle is successful, if the authorities are satisfied with the documents and the vehicle a vehicle registration certificate will be provided.

• Fill the application form in the above given site ,upload required proofs, take printout of the application form including Acknowledgement form and go to nearest RTO office before 11:30 a.m.

Required Documents

• Filled up Application Form 20
• Sale certificate in form 21 given by dealer
• Aadhaar Card
• Roadworthiness certificate in form 22 ,22-A from the manufacturer .
• Roadworthiness certificate in form 22-A part II from the body builder for transport vehicles.
• Transport commissioners approval.
• Purchase invoice ( for vehicles attracting life time tax)
• Temporary registration if any .
• Valid insurance certificate.
• Proof of address
• Entry tax payment proof if any vehicle, body or tanker is purchased from outside the state.
• Octroi receipt if registering in municipal limits.
• PAN number or Form-60 in two copies (expect 2 wheelers ).
• Manufacturers certificate for invalid carriage .
• Customs clearance certificate in case of imported vehicles along with License & bond if any.
• Bill of entry for imported vehicles.
• Design approval from transport commissioner in the case of a trailer.
• 7/12 abstract or tahasildar certificate in the case of agricultural tractor & trailer.

• Motor Cycle/Scooter/Two Wheelers - Rs 60
• LMV (Non TPT) - Rs 200
• LMV (TPT) - Rs 300
• Medium Good Vehicle - Rs 400
• Three wheelers - 1000 INR
• Medium Passenger Motor Vehicle - Rs 400
• Heavy Goods Vehicle (Stage Carriers and lorries) - 1500 INR
• Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle - Rs 600
• Imported Motor Vehicle - Rs 800
• Imported Motor Cycle - Rs 200

Instructions

Issuance of Vehicle Registration is a service that is extended by the Transport Department through their District Transport Offices. Register the new vehicle within 7 days from the date of taking delivery from the dealer excluding the period of journey for vehicles on temporary registration. Get the vehicle registered directly from the dealer on his trade certificate.

Required Information

• Full name of person to be registered as registered owner
• Age of the person to be registered as registered owner
• Permanent address of the person to be registered as Registered owner (Evidence to be produced)
• Temporary address of the person to be registered as registered owner
• Name and address of the Dealer or Manufacturer from whom the vehicle was purchased
• If ex-army vehicles or imported vehicle, enclose proof. If approval of design by the State Transport Authority and
• Class of vehicle (If motor cycle, whether with or without gear)
• Type of body and vehicle
• Maker's Name
• Month and Year of manufacture
• Number of Cylinders
• Horse Power
• Cubic Capacity
• Maker's classification or if not known wheel-base
• Chassis Number (Affix pencil print)
• Engine Number
• Sitting capacity (including Driver)
• Fuel used in the engine
• Unladen weight
• Particulars of previous registration and registered number (if any)
• Colour or colours of body, wings and front end
• Number, description and size of tyres
• Gross vehicle weight

Need for the Document

This procedure provides you information about how to register your vehicle. Vehicle registration is a requirement by the state. It's purpose is to establish clear ownership and to tax motorist or vehicle owners. Almost all vehicles bears a unique vehicle identification number, but only registered ones display a vehicle registration plate and carry a vehicle registration certificate.
