Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. A person desirous of grading and certifying a notified agricultural commodity under AGMARK can apply to the nearest field office of the Directorate of Marketing & Inspection (DMI).

3. Applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria, listed under the eligibility section below can apply for this certificate.
4. Go to the respective office.
5. Meet the respective authority get the required application form or write on a plain A4 paper as per advice.

7. Download the application form. Complete the application form. Submit the completed application (2 copies) along with required documents as mentioned in our required documents session and enclose application fee & registration fee (DD) in accordance with the nature of the commodity for which the application is being filed.
8. Authorities will check the submitted application. If all are in place an acknowledgement will be provided to the applicant. Please keep it safe for future reference.
9. This application will be processed internally.
10. This application will be moved to the respective authority for verification of the necessary infrastructure.
11. The approved Chemist tests the raw material verification and the processed commodity (from the lot) as per the request for field/site before getting it packed in a suitable packing material/containers.
12. After field verification and inspection, authority will submit a report before the certification division.
13. If the certification division authority observes that all norms are complied with by the applicant, authorities will issue certification.
14. After all the above steps, applicant gets notification over his registered mobile number through SMS from the department. Please follow the notification to get the certificate.
15. If the certification division authority observes that all norms are not complied with by the applicant, the application will be rejected.
    

Apply Online - Obtain Agmark Certificate for your Product Online with images

1. Please go to: online portal
2. In the given page, please select “Certificate of Authorisation” option to reach “Applicant Login for Certificate of Authorisation” page.
3. Please enter “Company Id/Premises Id *”, Password and enter captcha as per given image. Please click “Submit” button to login.
   1. If you are a new user then click “Sign Up” button to get “New Applicant Registration” page. Please complete the prompts as applicable and click “Register” button to register. Applicant will get a user id in their email id provided while registering. Please use the credentials to login.
4. Once login, applicant will get online application form to fill up firm profile, premises profile, machinery profiles, packing detail, laboratory details and Trade Brand details.
5. Please enter/select mandatory details as per prompt, applicant should upload the required documents in PDF form at relevant fields and hit the applicable button to submit the application online.
6. Applicant shall pay the fees online as per the payment option available. Use the payment gateway as appropriate.
7. Applicant gets acknowledgement page. Please save it for future reference.
8. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
9. Competent authority will do the verification of the uploaded documents.
10. Applicant will get intimation for inspection of premises.
11. Concerned authorities will inspect the business place and do their due diligence as mentioned in application by applicant for necessary infrastructure.
12. Upon approval by competent authority, notification from the department will be sent to the applicant through SMS. Please follow the department guidelines to complete the certification process.
13. On the said date, applicant can collect the certificate or the certificate will be delivered as per applicable norms.
    

Note:

• The field officers of DMI keep regular check on the commodity graded and certified under AGMARK by drawing check samples from packers’ premises and market. These check samples are analysed in Regional AGMARK Laboratories and action deemed fit is taken if the graded commodity is found not conforming to the prescribed standards.
• It is advised to submit additional set of copy of the documents and get counter signed for your safety while applying with government department..
• Visit the nearest AGMARK certified production centre and consult with them for any latest update requirements.

• Consent letter of the laboratory approved under Agmark in FORM ‘A-3’: link for the form
• Document authenticating the establishment of the firm, such as the registration certificate.
• Memorandum of Association, in case of a Limited Company.
• Partnership Deed, in case of a Partnership Firm.
• Sketch of the premises
• A copy of licence from Panchayat/Municipality.
• Bank reference - Letter from the bank regarding the transaction to the packer with the bank.
• Name and postal address of the business, contact details included.
• The full address of the premises where the grading and certification will be carried out.

• Period for which the applicant has been in business.
• A copy of the test report which is duly authenticated, from an independent Agmark recognized laboratory.
• Sachets of the product samples to be submitted.
• Turnover details of the previous year.
• Total Gross Product for the previous year (in Kgs)
• List of machineries.
• Specimen signature of authorised persons attested by the proprietor/managing partner.
• Medical fitness certificate of employee.
• Specimen copy and sketch of trade brand label
• ID Proof of the Applicant (PAN/DL/Passport/Bank Passbook)
• Address Proof of the Applicant (DL/ Passport/Bank Passbook)
• Property Tax up-to-date tax receipt (Commercial --Business --Industrial)
• Letter head
• Self-declaration
• Aadhaar Card
• Rental agreement if it is a rented place

Eligibility

• Applicant must have the necessary infrastructure to process the commodity for which the certification is sought.
• Applicant must have access to an approved laboratory for grading or must have own laboratory.

Note:

• The registration fee will vary based on several independent variable factors including grading charges, processing fees, etc.

• The period of validity of AGMARK certificate will be 5 years.

• AGMARK Standards differentiate between quality and 2-3 grades are prescribed for each commodity.
• Grades help farmers to get prices for agricultural commodities as per the quality produced by them and consumers get the desired quality

Information which might help

• The DMI is implementing the scheme of certification of agricultural commodities for domestic trade and export.
• The Scheme is voluntary. For Blended Edible Vegetable Oils and Fat Spread certification under AGMARK is mandatory as per provisions in The Food Safety and Standards Act and regulations, 2006.
• The commodities certified under Agmark for domestic trade are spices, ghee, butter, mustard oil, wheat atta, Besan, honey, etc.
