Apply In Person:

  1. To Apply for a Medical Laboratory License, the applicant can approach the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  11. Once the process gets completed, the concerned authority will conduct an inspection of a laboratory to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  12. If the laboratory meets all the necessary requirements, the regulatory authority will grant a license to operate the laboratory.
  13. Once the process gets completed successfully, the applicant will get the license or permit by visiting the office.
  14. This entire process can be completed within 3-4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply Online:

  1. To Apply for a Medical Laboratory License, the applicant has to use the following link
  2. The applicant has to read the given instruction and then click on the “click here to Register” button.
  3. In the next page, after reading the Terms and Condition the applicant has to click on the “I Accept above Terms and Condition” button.
  4. The applicant has to enter all the details and click on the “verify contact details” button
  5. The applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to complete the application process and has to pay the fee online.
  7. Once the applicant has entered all the details, the applicant has to click on the “Submit” button.
  8. The applicant will receive a message on the registered mobile number confirming that his/her request has been submitted.
  9. Once the application has been submitted the concerned authority will verify the application and conduct an inspection of the laboratory to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  10. If the laboratory meets all the necessary requirements, the regulatory authority will grant a license to operate the laboratory.
  11. This entire process can be completed within 3-4 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  1. To Apply for a Medical Laboratory License, the applicant can download the app from the play store using the following link
  2. The applicant has to click on the “Install “button and download the app.
  3. First, the applicant has to register with the mobile number.
  4. After registering, the applicant has to log in with a user ID and password and click the “Login” button.
  5. The applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
  6. The applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. The applicant has to complete the application process and has to pay the fee online.
  8. Once the process gets completed, the applicant has to click on the “Submit” button.

EligibilityEdit

  • The applicant must have an Indian citizenship.
  • The applicant must have experience in handling instruments.
  • The applicant must have proper qualifications to start the medical lab.


Note:

  • The applicant laboratory shall have satisfactorily participated in Proficiency Testing (PT) program conducted by accredited PT provider as per ISO/IEC 17043 before submission of application
  • Test parameters covered in last six months in PT programs shall be considered for recognition. Six months shall be calculated from date of application submission.
  • PT result/report received date shall be considered for PT participation date
  • Scope once recognized cannot be changed during the recognition period. There is no provision for extension in scope in this scheme.
  • Laboratory shall be legally identifiable.
