- To apply for private service vehicle permit in Rajasthan the applicant has to approach the RTO office or permit issuing state/regional transport authorities of the area.
- Information related to the RTO offices and permit issuing state/regional transport authorities can be obtained from the “Office and Location” Section of this page.
- You will have to submit Application in Form No. RS 5.6 in front of permit authority.
- Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
- Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
- Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee.
- After the necessary examination of the forms with the application by the authorized authority, the form Permit will be issued.

- You can also apply for private service vehicle Permit online via state portal: State Portal
- Select; transport, e-services, national permit
- You will be redirected to the national portal page: National Portal Page
- Here you can log in using the user id and password.
- For activation of login Id applicant needs to download the form from following link: User creation log in info
- Get the form verified at RTO office.
- Once your user id is active you can log in using the credentials and apply for permit related services online.
Apply Online:
- To apply for private service vehicle permit, the applicant has to visit the official portal of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways: Link to Portal
- In the homepage, please scroll down to “Informational Services” and click on the “more” button in the “Citizen Guide” tab.
- The applicant will be taken to the “Manual” page where all the available services will be listed.
- Please click on the name of the required service and click on “Step by Step procedure” from the drop down menu.
- The applicant will be taken to a new PDF page where the process for applying will be explained clearly.
- Please follow the steps to complete the application.

- It is necessary to get private service vehicle permit if you want to run your private vehicle on rent/remuneration or any business.
- It is mandatory for owner of a transport vehicle to obtain permit and use permit in accordance with the conditions of the permit granted or countersigned by the Regional or State Transport Authority.
- Granting of permit is decided by the State Transport Authority/Regional Transport Authority Board as the case may be, keeping in view the overall public interest and advantages to the public, of the services likely to be provided, subject to compliance of the requisite condition and formalities.
- Applications for permits are available in the office of the secretary State Transport Authority and secretary Regional Transport Authority. The applicant must first apply for allotment. After which the applicant can register the vehicle as a transport vehicle in the R.T.A./S.T.A.
