Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for change address or name in driver license in Rajasthan the applicant has to approach the RTO office of the area.
   
2. Information related to the RTO offices and licensing authority can be obtained from the “Office and Location” Section of this page.
   
3. You will have to submit Application along with the required documents in front of licensing authority.
   
4. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
5. Applicant will have to get clearance certificate if the address change belongs to same state.
   
6. If the change of address is applied for different state, applicant will have to submit NOC from the state.
   
7. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for driver license by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
   
8. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
9. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
10. After verification officials will process the application and send the updated driving license on the mentioned address.

1. To Apply for Change Address or Name in Driver License, the applicant can make the application online via the following link link
2. The applicant has to click “Drivers/ Learners License” and select the respective state from the drop-down menu.
3. On the next tab, the applicant has to click “Apply for Change of Address” and read the instructions and click “Continue”
4. Next the applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
5. Make sure that the applicant has to upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Review the application and click “Submit”
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
8. An acknowledgment receipt will be displayed. Please save it for future reference, it contains the application summary and contact details of the person to be contacted.
9. Next the applicant should book the slot and visit the office on the respective date.
10. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.

Eligibility

• Change of address: If applicant has changed his residential address with in state or out of state
  
• Change of name: If applicant has changed his name for any reason, or change in name after marriage.
  

Fees

• Any application for change in address or any other particulars recorded in the driving licence e.g. address etc : Rs. 200

Validity

• A Driving License for a private vehicle is valid up to a period of 20 yrs or an age of 50 yrs whichever is experienced earlier. But, a commercial Driving License is valid up to three years.

• Change in name or address in driving license is required when an applicant changes his residence or name.

Information which might help

• Individuals who have shifted their residential address will have to make an application to their respective Regional Transport Office to reflect the change in their driving licence. The first step to having your residential address changed in your driving license is to obtain a No Objection Certificate / Clearance Certificate from the RTO from where you attained your driving license. Once you have obtained the CC / NOC, you will be required to go to the nearest RTO if you wish to apply for a change of address.
