- To Apply for the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP), the applicant has to approach the Department of Education link
- Ensure that your institution and proposed project align with the eligibility criteria specified in the HEPPP guidelines.
- The program primarily targets higher education institutions and initiatives that aim to increase the participation and success of students from low socio-economic backgrounds, regional and remote areas, Indigenous backgrounds, and other underrepresented groups.
- Create a comprehensive project proposal that outlines the objectives, activities, expected outcomes, and budget of your proposed initiative.
- The proposal should clearly demonstrate how your project aligns with the goals of the HEPPP and how it will address the identified priority areas.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
- The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- There is no fee for Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP).
- After receiving the document set, the concerned authority will check the submitted letter and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- The selection process may involve internal review panels or external expert assessments. You will be notified of the outcome, which could include approval, conditional approval, or rejection of your application.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 – 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

The applicant may be eligible to apply for the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP) in Australia if you meet the following criteria:
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand Special Category Visa (SCV) holder who meets the long-term residency requirements.
