ProcedureEdit

- Complete the Driver License Application/Renewal.
Driver License Application/Renewal: http://www.support.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/formsdat.nsf/forms/QF3000/$file/F3000_ES.pdf - Show your evidence of identity and Queensland residency documents.
- Pass an eyesight test, if required.
- Declare that you are medically fit to drive the class of motor vehicle. Note: If you have a medical condition that might adversely affect your ability to drive or ride safely, you will be required to show a medical certificate from your doctor stating that you are medically fit to drive or ride safely.
- Pay the license fee.

To apply for an open license for the same class as your provisional license you must hold, and have held, a P1 or P2 license for the required period.

Need for the DocumentEdit
An Open License is a license given to a Queensland driver who has hold a provisional license for three years.
Information which might helpEdit
- Once you have held your open license for one year you can teach learner license holders to drive or ride the same class as stated on your open license. While supervising a learner driver you must ensure L-plates are clearly displayed on the front and back of the vehicle (rear only for motorbikes). Failure to do so will result in a fine.
- You may learn to drive or ride the next higher class of vehicle than the class stated on your open license. Note: You must comply with the no alcohol limit (0.00) while learning to drive or ride the next higher class of vehicle.
